TTG Music Lab
Geoff Bennett and André Hirz have been operating as TTG Music Lab since 1996 composing music for television, film, stage and more specializing in the use of natural instruments.
350 episodes of animation include international hit “ Max and Ruby” as well as “Trucktown”, “Maggie and the Ferocious Beast” and "Where Oliver Fits". Noteworthy Documentaries include “A Year in the Life of a Twig Eater” featuring Mary Margaret O’Hara on vocals (Canadian Screen Award nomination 2018), “Meet the Coywolf” (PBS Nature) , “Sexual Intelligence” with Kim Cattrall and “Yours Al” with Gordon Pinsent. TTG Music Lab also has 5 records and 5 Feature films to their credit.
FILM AND TV
TTG Music Lab has scored five Feature Films including the much celebrated "New Waterford Girl," and “Sabah“, ten Animated Series including “Jane and the Dragon”, “Willa’s Wild Life“, "Maggie and The Ferocious Beast" and “Max and Ruby” and over forty Documentary films including “The Secret World Of Gardens” (Discovery-39 episodes), “Kim Cattrall: Sexual Intelligence” (HBO) “Murder of Crows“ (CBC -The Nature of Things) and "Animal Odd Couples" (PBS, Nature).
ABOUT ANDRÉ HIRZ
André Hirz (stage name "Longo Hai") is a guitar player, composer, engineer, co-creator and partner in TTG Music Lab.
He worked with Peter Weiss / Corporate Sound (Basel, Switzerland) creating custom sounds and samples for European clients such as Swissair and Swiss Rail. In 2000 he co-composed and performed the live score for “Wilfullwind” choreographed by Toru Shimazaki, at the Panasonic Globe Theater, Tokyo, Japan.
As a guitarist for the Look People (1985 – present) he co-created two records, “Boogasm” and “Crazy Eggs” and toured Europe and North America extensively. André also toured Canada and Europe with Sarah Craig in support of her album “Sweet Exhaust ”.
Recently André performed on Kevin Hearn’s (Barenaked Ladies) recent release “Super Hero Suite”.
ABOUT GEOFF BENNETT
Award-winning composer, Geoff Bennett has been hailed as a “percussive force who plays everything bent, banged or shaken“ by the L.A Times.
Geoff has spent 30 years as a Composer, Studio percussionist and Performer with Peggy Baker, Dancemakers, Rayburn Blake (Mashmakhan), Paul Humphrey (Blue Peter), Moses Pendleton (Momix), David Parsons, Toru Shimazaki, Toronto Dance Theatre, Merrill Nisker (Peaches), Fancy Pants Hoodlum, Anti-Gravity Janitors and Luke Cresswell (STOMP).
Geoff’s percussion albums “Music for Bipedal Movement” and “Next of Skin” have been used worldwide for modern dance training and choreography. Music from these two releases have also been featured on various film projects, and “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”.
ACCOLADES
TTG Music Lab's work has received many acclamations. These include 10 Gemini/ Genie/ Canadian Screen Awards Nominations and one Gemini Award win for “Dinner at the Edge”in 2001.
